Before embarking on this project, we, the developers of HyperChina, had been instructors of beginning and advanced Chinese with years of experience teaching English-speaking students at the University of California, Berkeley. With HyperChina, you really get more than what you pay for – there are about 2,000 sentences in the course (all with clear pronunciation), animated calligraphy and complete grammar notes; and we've also included everything from a 1,200-entry talking dictionary to talking clock and calendar, and for cultural information we have everything from names of politicians and movie stars to samples of Peking Opera and pop music. (The only thing you won't find in HyperChina is QuickTime movies.)
